Since graduating in 1996, Emma has been developing a unique style that blends performance and costume within the realms of theatre and circus, working as designer, stylist, performer, illusionist and show devisor. After winning awards for her Gaia Collection in 1996; she went onto work at London Fashion Week Shows; designing for Eye Theatre, Turning Point Theatre and Big Foot Theatre; whilst also performing her self devised pieces at Brighton Fringe Festival, Komedia Cabaret Theatre, Gardener Arts, New Venture Theatre, Northbrook Theatre, Norwich Arts Centre, Norfolk Gallery, Bloomsbury Press, Palm Tree Faeries. After a 2 year tour with Giffords Circus as 'costume designer - character magician', she designed the Clowns and Unicorns Collection and wrote the film The Crinoline and the Rose, inspired by the dreams of her designs. Winner of both 'Best Festival Film' and 'Best Bursary Film' at Two Short Nights Film Festival in December 2006, it was made with Banyak Films. Recent Awards: The Film won both Best Bursary Film and Best Festival Film in December 2006 at Two Short Nights Film Festival. Winner of Most Innovative Film at the Media Innovation Awards 2007. The project was initially supported by the Dartmoor National Park Sustainable Development Fund to reintroduce local fabric making into Devon.
